Gastroprotective Activity and Potential Mechanism of the Stem Bark of <i>Boswellia dalzielii</i> on Gastric Ulcer in Rat

Gastric ulcer (GU) is the most common health concern that occurs due to alcohol consumption, smoking and physiological stress. Boswelia dalzielii (BD) traditionally used treat many diseases including gastric ulcers. This study aims investigate gastroprotective activity of Boswelia dalzielii. The cytoprotective property was evaluated by using five experimental methods GU: 1. Absolute ethanol, 2. HCl/Ethanol, 3. HCl/ Ethanol/ Indomethacin, 4. 5. Pylorus ligation. Omeprazole as reference anti-ulcer drugs. Phytochemical screening carried out, Wistar rats (150-200 g) were evaluate anti-ulcerogenic effects extract out. revealed presence phytochemicals components such tannins, saponins, flavonoids, triterpenes, phenols. oral administrations 400 mg/kg body weight could protect mucosa against ulcer. results showed at a concentration has significant antiulcerogenic absolute hydrochloride ethanol (HCl/EtOH), EtOH/IND, pyloric ligation-induced
